School Nurse Simulation Boot Camp: Altered Mental Status

The purpose of this event is to explore best practices for K-12 school nurses through simulation. During this one-day event, nurses will participate in simulation experiences that impact clinical practice in the school setting. Topics reflect the needs assessment data and specifically requested topics that are important for the school nurse stakeholder population in the Northeast Texas region. 

1. Apply knowledge of the presented topics to a clinical case example. 
2. Apply knowledge of the presented topics when assessing patients in the school-based setting.  
3. Describe methods and resources to provide ongoing support to students impacted by the presented topics. 
4. Employ best practices for communicating with parents/guardians of students impacted by the presented topics.

Nurses.....$200.00

Important Registration Information: 

Registration is limited to 30 participants. This activity is dependent on minimum enrollment and may be cancelled or rescheduled if sufficient registration is not achieved. A decision will be communicated no later than one week prior to the scheduled date. In the event of cancellation, registrants will receive a full refund. 

Waitlist Information: 

If the activity reaches capacity, interested participants may request to be added to the waitlist by emailing [email protected]. Registrants will be contacted in the order requests are received should a space become available.

Cancellation Policy

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing reserves the right to cancel or postpone this program if necessary; in the event of cancellation, course fees will be fully refunded. We are not responsible for other costs incurred such as non-refundable airline tickets or hotel penalties.

Weather/emergency clause
In the event of weather or emergency conditions, the activity may be rescheduled or delivered virtually when possible.

No Show Policy
No refunds or transfers will be issued for individuals who do not attend the activity.
